Pensions - Investment Information

If you are a member of H&V Pensions, there are two options you can take when investing for your retirement.

The Trustees currently invest Scheme funds with Legal & General Investment Management Ltd using five investment funds (see below)

Option 1 - Lifestyle
If you want a low level involvement in managing your investment funds, the Scheme's default option is the 'Lifestyle' investment strategy, which invests in the Consensus Index Fund up until five years before your State Pension Age. Gradually thereafter investments are switched automatically into Gilt Funds, thus reducing risk as you approach retirement.

Option 2 - Freestyle
Members wishing to be more closely involved in managing their investment funds can opt for the 'Freestyle' strategy, where you choose the balance of investments you want using any of the five funds. Every 6 months you will have the chance to request that your funds are switched.

A full explanation of the above options is available in this guide - Investment Guide

To aid you in your decisions, we have made available the latest fund fact sheets from Legal & General:

Cash Fund (Minimal Risk)

Over 15 Year Gilts Index Fund (Cautious Risk)

Over 5 Year Index-Linked Gilts Index Fund (Cautious Risk)

Consensus Index Fund (Moderate Risk)

Global Equity Fixed Weights 50:50 Index Fund (High Risk)

Charges on investments are summarised here - 'Charging Structure'

The next opportunity for members to opt for 'Freestyle' investments, or change the balance of funds if already 'Freestyle' is 31 July 2008.

The Freestyle Switch Form must be returned to H&V Pensions at Welplan Ltd by 18 July to be actioned in time.
